Jet lag is a tired, run down feeling that often make you feel like you are sick and is caused by your body’s reaction to a change in time zones.

When you travel to a time zone significantly different to the one you are used to, sometimes you body has a hard time dealing with new sleeping, eating and activity patterns.

Try and get as much sleep as possible while on your flight and upon arrival, adjust to local time immediately by eating and sleeping at the same time the locals do – this should help relieve the effects of jet-lag and help you get over it faster.

  1. I try to drink lots of water on the plane and also attempt to adjust to the local time as quickly as possible. If I arrive in the morning, I resist the urge to nap and instead try to go for a walk to keep myself awake until a normal bedtime.

I also try to strategically book flights that have good arrival times. I am on a plane to Jordan right now and will be landing at 5pm local time. My plan is to check-in to my hotel, shower, grab dinner, and then go to bed and hopefully be able to sleep all night :-)
