Black Water Rafting
Following a cave system underground whilst sitting in a tyre inner tube (rubber ring). Some walking, some floating, some glowworm spotting.

Waitomo Caves Tour
Guided tour of the famous glowworm caves at Waitomo. Fully guided, walking tour with exit by boat.
Duration: 1 hour
Ruakuri Caves Tour
Newly opened caves with a tour that gives you a more extensive insight into cave formations and glowworm activity.

The 3.5 hour black water rafting tour through waitomo caves was awesome and very cold but all worth it in the end.

If you are worried about pick pocketers go to www.pacsafe.com they have slash proof bags and purses as well as camera straps. Great for guys and gals. I used the citysafe 200 and its great.
My best advice is to step outside your comfort zone and make an effort to talk to EVERYONE on tour. I made friends from 6 continents on the one tour!!!
A hike to the top of Yosemite Falls is among the best the park has to offer.
